At first, I would like to set the main idea of this text. This report taked out from Toronto Star, it's about how English had been evolving throughout time. In the middle east are three main variarions of English; Hinglish, Chinglish and Arabizi. Then, the author set some examples of people who have been afected by this change.
That is basically what is the text about, and now, I'll analyse the text setting out the topics, the theme, the register, etc; but without living the authors purpose. When you read the title and the first paragraphs, you can conclude that it is about a formal report taked from a newspaper, that is because the register is formal and doesn't share an special tone. The theme of this text are Language and variations, because that is the text about in a very generalized way. We can't left away the author's purpose, it's very important to considerate. I think that the author wants to inform people who read this newspaper from Toronto, that English has a lot of variations, and she wants to communicate it because she is from where this variations occur, because if her lastname, wich is, I think, from the middle east. This text is very interesting and has very confident sources and quotes.

This week was very interesting; we learned that there are different types of languages: Scientific language, legal language and language in sports. The one I was able to understand the best was the language in sports, because I play rugby and I use this kind of language all time. We all sow acted some sketches using one of this languages. My group and I represented "IN THE LAB". This one we should be some medical examiners. And we learned something very important, something amazing; COD is not only Call of Duty, is at the same time Cause of the dead.

This week was the first of the second period. We learned that language and culture are interconnected and that language is a social act that has power to shape culture. There are so many types of different languages and with them, different cultures. We watched a video about a man who was able to speak a very wide amount of languages.

At the beginning of the week, we watched a video about a guy on his first day at work. We were supposed to identify the slang.
Then, on Tuesday, we debated in groups about the motion if e-readers gives you portability and commodity to read.The debates were very interesting and very "hot". They are a good activity to think and express our ideas.

 This week was conected whit the last one because we continued with literature and the criticism. I think thet we took two weeks because is nit very easy to learn but, at the same time, is not that hard.We analysed an excerpt of the catcher in the rye with an oral interrogation in wich all the class participated.
